Several longtime Tucson professionals are behind the development and production of “Lost & Found: The Tucson Sound.” They are volunteering their time to help produce this film. See individual team member profiles.

Meet the Members of the Production Team

Jim Travis

Jim Travis, Principle Lead, and recent inductee to the Tucson Musicians Museum, has been an integral part of Tucson’s music world for decades, from owning a record store to establishing and running several music series, to promoting and booking venues and artists, and producing exciting music events. He has served on various relevant Boards in the area and runs a social site as a service to the broad music community of Arizona. He is currently  producing a documentary that captures Tucson’s vibrant music scene from the 60s to the 80s, celebrating the musicians, venues, and community that have left a lasting mark on the city. Jim is also producer for a podcast in Tulsa called “Church Studio Presents Miss O’Dell, “Abby Road to Tulsa Time.”

Ed Alexander

Ed Alexander has been active in the Southern Arizona music scene since being in a local rock band in the late 1960’s. He has been a highly recognized Tucson Radio personality,  programmer and producer since the early 70’s – ‘Spinning the Hits’ on popular stations including KWFM, KTKT (15 years), KHYT, Cool FM, 790 Mighty KCEE, Mix FM, The Groove and KVOI – The Voice. In the Summer of ’79 he helped launch Classic Rocker 96.1 KLPX. Over the decades, he has MC’d and hosted hundreds of concerts, community promotions and charity events. Over the last 50 years, Ed has been a member of numerous boards and committees including The March of Dimes, Muscular Dystrophy Association, The United Way, Tucson Classics, Foothills Club of Tucson and The Tucson Ad Fed.  He’s received numerous awards, including The AAF Golden Mic, Addys and was inducted into the Tucson Musicians Museum in 2020. In retirement, Ed is an active volunteer and leader with the American Red Cross and spends as much time as possible with his wife Julie, daughter Courtney and two beautiful granddaughters.

Jim Brady

Jim Brady’s professional career began in 1971 at age 17 at the legendary radio station KWFM. He rose through the ranks to become Music Director and was a popular on-air personality. In 1980 he joined KLPX and while there continued on-air and as Music Director. Starting in 1984 and continuing through today, he has operated Tucson’s premier recording facility, “Jim Brady Recording Studios”. Over the past 4 decades he has hosted such musical luminaries as Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Emmy Lou Harris, Kenny Rogers, Ann Hampton Callaway, Scorpions, Wishbone Ash and many more. His film and television credits include work with Gene Hackman, George C. Scott, Anthony Zerbe, Josh Brolin, Richard Dean Anderson, and Melissa Leo to name just a few. Gold and platinum records are among his many awards. He continues to serve the Tucson music community, and is distinguished for his many decades of high quality production.

Chuck Graham

Chuck Graham has written about the Tucson arts scene for more than 40 years. He was a critic for the Tucson Citizen covering local music, theater, and national film.

Allan Hammerel-Browning

Allan Hammerel-Browning is a 30 Year Tucson Broadcaster, joining the Air Staff of the KWFM Radio in 1971. Allan (AKA Allan Browning) was Program Director and Afternoon Drive host on KWFM for most of the 70’s, during the golden age of what we now call “Classic Rock.” Allan left KWFM in 1979 for the startup of KLPX “96 Rock” where he shortly became Program Director and eventually General Manager. In the 90’s, Allan was General Manager of stations in California. He returned to Tucson in 1990 and joined the Programing side of the business as Operation Manager with the startup of Classic Rock KKHG “The Hog,” KMXZ “Mix FM” and others for Behan Broadcasting. in 1994, his final stint in broadcasting was with the startup of KOAZ “Smooth Jazz.” In 1998, he was Sales Manager, and eventually, National Sales Manager for KIIM-FM, KYHT and the entire Slone Broadcasting Group. Most recently, Allan is the 17-year owner-manager of Renegade Classics Biker Outlet, a Motorcycle Clothing and Accessory retail store in Tucson.

Lisa Harber Maher

Lisa Harber Maher found an early footing managing the Pawnbroker Restaurant and Saloon in the 1970’s, which many beloved Tucson bands (The Bob Meighan Band, Jerry Riopelle, Straight Shot, Frank & Woody, The Air Brothers) called “home” during her 5-year tenure. A champion of live music, she currently combines a balance of promoting music events in Tucson: house concerts and jams, with over ten years of free Porch Fests right in her neighborhood in the middle of Tucson with 15 bands on 8 porches in 3 hours. More than a thousand people from all over town typically attend and bands weirdly vie to be included, yet are unpaid. There is no better example of musicians playing for the love of the music!

Carlos Terrazas

Carlos Terrazas has been producing videos for more than three decades at Terrazas Video, Southern Arizona’s largest video production facility, offering a range of services including video production, post-production, duplication, and preservation. With over three decades of experience, they cater to broadcast and corporate clients, focusing primarily on the arts and sciences while also accommodating various genres. The company provides professional equipment and production crews, allowing clients the flexibility to either edit their own content or have it done by Terrazas Video. Their goal is to collaborate with clients to enhance their in-house capabilities and meet unique production needs.

David Wing

David Wing, BFA General Fine Arts Studies, University of Arizona, MA Drama (Film Emphasis), University of Arizona, has been a filmmaking Artist in Residence, with both Wyoming Council on the Arts and Arizona Council on the Arts. David has been a film production educator at universities and community colleges, most recently as faculty at the University of Arizona, Film and Television department. He has been a cinematographer/camera operator on Feature films, Shorts, Television series, network documentaries, commercials and industrial films/videos and has worked for networks, cable channels and government media agencies. David has worked with both international and domestic production crews. David’s film/video work has appeared on CNN, ABC News, Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon, PBS and The Nashville Network, to name a few.

Robert Zucker

Robert Zucker has published several Tucson newspapers since 1978, including “Youth Awareness Press,” “Tucson Teen,” and “Entertainment Magazine.” In 1995, he launched Entertainment Magazine On Line (EMOL.org), one of the first newspapers on the “World Wide Web.” Robert was a journalism instructor at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. After retiring, he published several books, including a three-volume set on Tucson’s entertainment history, “Entertaining Tucson Across the Decades.” He was inducted into the Tucson Musicians Museum in 2020.

Jay Zucker

Jay S. Zucker, a native Tucsonan, worked in local radio broadcasting in the 70’s & 80’s, owned and operated Telemundo TV station in the 1990’s. Jay then acquired the Triple A Baseball Franchise and owned the legendary live country music venue The Maverick in the 2000’s.
